Barbarian Build – “First Time Inferno Build”

Finally you have reached Inferno. This is the place where this game shows it’s teeth. Probably when you will just enter the Inferno you may be shocked by crazy damage that mobs deal and amount of their health. Do not worry. If you cannot handle Inferno at the beginning go and farm hell. Finally you have Nephalem Valor so you can farm better. CLICK HERE for THE BEST Diablo 3 Barbarian Guide

At Inferno you must realize that barbarian is not a main damage dealer. The truth is that you should even sacrifice part of your damage in order to stay alive. Due to that fact I present you universal build that will help you to fight and farm through Inferno.

1. Primary

- Frenzy

Swing for 110% weapon damage. Frenzy attack speed increases by 15% with each swing. This effect can stack up to 5 times for a total bonus of 75% attack speed.

Rune: Sidearm

Each strike has a 25% chance to throw a piercing axe at a nearby enemy that deals 110% weapon damage to all enemies in its path.

Good single target damage that is a must at Inferno.

2. Might

- Revenge

Revenge has a 15% chance to become active each time you are hit.

Inflict 220% weapon damage to all nearby enemies. You heal 5.0% of your maximum Life for each enemy hit.

Rune: Provocation

Increases the chance Revenge will become active to 30% each time you are hit by an attack.

Health regeneration plus damage

3. Defensive

- Leap

Leap into the air, dealing 85% weapon damage to all enemies within 8 yards of your destination and slowing their movement speed by 60% for 3 seconds.

Rune: Iron Impact

Gain 300% additional Armor for 4 seconds after landing.

Absolutely a must at Inferno. There will be a lot of situations where you just need to run away.

4. Rage

- Earthquake

Shake the ground violently, dealing 2000% weapon damage as Fire over 8 seconds to all enemies within 18 yards.

Rune: Path of Fire

Project secondary tremors up to 12 yards ahead of you that inflict 65% weapon damage as Fire.

Great damage combined with WotB

5. Tactics

- War Cry

Unleash a rallying cry to increase Armor for you and all allies within 50 yards by 20% for 60 seconds.

Rune: Invigorate/Hardened Wrath/Impunity

Using different runes should depend of your build. If you are lacking armor use Hardened Wrath. If you are lacking resistances use Impunity. If you are lacking health regeneration then use
Invigorate

6. Rage

- Wrath of the Berserker

Enter a berserker rage which raises several attributes for 15 seconds.

Critical Hit Chance: 10%
Attack Speed: 25%
Dodge Chance: 20%
Movement Speed: 20%

Rune: Insanity

While active your damage is also increased by 100%.

Great damage combined with Earthquake

Passives

Nerves of Steel

Your Armor is increased by 100% of your Vitality.

Tough as Nails

Increases Armor by 25%.
Thorns damage dealt increased by 50%.

Boon of Bul-Kathos

The cooldown on your Earthquake, Call of the Ancients, and Wrath of the Berserker skills is reduced by 30 seconds.

This skill is affected by your characters: Skill Level (set to 1 for example above)

As you can see these passives are focus on protecting you. Boon of Bul-Kathos is perfect if you often want to use WotB and Earthquake (your main damage dealers).

This Build is perfect for Inferno due to a lot of reasons.

First of all Inferno Act 1 is simply farming place for under geared characters. You just want to fight against elite mobs so “Earthquake and Wrath of Berserker” is perfect for that. Other skills like War Cry ad Revenge are great defensive skill to recharge your life etc.

This build is also very good if you want to play with group. War Cry will give your team great additional bonus and other skills will make your great tank. CLICK HERE for THE BEST Diablo 3 Barbarian Guide

Swords/Daggers: 15% increased damage
Maces/Axes: 10% Critical Hit Chance
Polearms/Spears: 10% attack speed
Mighty Weapons: 3 Fury per hit

Why? Additional bonus to damage or Critical Hit Chance

2. Ruthless

Critical Hit Chance increased by 5%. Critical Hit Damage increased by 50%.

Why? Additional Critical Hit Chance and Critical Hit Damage:)

3. Berserker Rage

You inflict an additional 25% damage while at maximum Fury

Why? You won’t need any Fury with this build so you can definitely sue this great passive.

How to fight with this build?

Basically for me this build is only for players that want to check out how much damage you can deal. Well you just enter the fight and kill everything that moves. For survivability you will use Leap/Iron Impact (to run way or additional protection). Also you should use War Cry/Impunity. Rest of skills are for pure damage.

What kind of gear you need to deal so much damage?

Well, you definitely need to have “Critical Damage” stat maxed out nicely. At least 350% so you can do crazy amounts of damage once you hit “Critical Hit“. Also you may need some kind of two-handed high DPS weapon and of course a lot of “Strength”. CLICK HERE for THE BEST Diablo 3 Barbarian Guide

Other improvements that I like to see are increased damage for: Whirlwind, Hammer of The Ancients, Rend, Cleave, Bash – now it will be even better Fury generator which is great.

Other skills like: Overpowered, Weapon Throw, Ancient Spear, Seismic Slam even improved still are not that useful compared to others. CLICK HERE for THE BEST Diablo 3 Barbarian Guide

Patch 1.0.4 My Thoughts

Here are a few blue posts that were posted lately about new patch 1.0.4. I’ve decided that I will share my thoughts about this.

The Auction House can short circuit the natural pace of item drops, making the game feel less rewarding for some players. This is a problem we recognize. At this point we’re not sure of the exact way to fix it, but we’re discussing it constantly, and we believe it’s a problem we can overcome.

Well adding Paragon system made this game a little bit more worth to play after level 60. Before that all you needed is just gold to buy items form Auction House. It was much more worth to farm gold for hours and then buy something food than play game and find items.

So Blizzard think and hopefully you will find something good for Diablo 3 players that will motivate them to play this game.

Playing Diablo III needs to be a rewarding experience. The new legendaries are a big step in the right direction, as are tweaks to item drop rates. But I’m not convinced that we’ve gone far enough. If you don’t have that great feeling of a good drop being right around the corner — and the burst of excitement when it finally arrives — then we haven’t done our jobs right. Out of our concern to make sure that Diablo III would have longevity, we were overly cautious about how we handled item drops and affixes. If 1.0.4 hasn’t fixed that, you can be sure we’ll continue to address it.

Well for me improving Legendaries still means nothing. First of all why they didn’t make Legendaries worth to wear form the beginning? What was the problem to just make them better for the beginning? I just don’t get it because for me Legendaries should obviously be “THE” items to get and wear.

The Paragon system is a step in the right direction, giving meta-progress for your time in the game, but it does little to address the variety of activities you can do while playing. I don’t think there’s a silver-bullet solution to this problem, but I do think we can make this aspect of the game better, and as such we’re planning more than just PvP for the next major patch.

Well I agree with that. The Paragon system is a great idea for people that really want to max out their characters. What is more important it gives an opportunity for all those players that didn’t want to just grind for hours to find better item.

We all know that sometimes grinding only for items can be boring but finally Blizzard gave us something more. Good

Patch 1.0.4 Preview: Barbarian

Kinall new patch 1.0.4. is coming. See what chanes for Barbraians it will bring.

One of our primary goals with class changes in patch 1.0.4 is to help improve build diversity. Of course, this has been a goal for the Diablo III development team since launch, but our approach this patch has been a little different. For 1.0.4, we’re taking a good look at some of the most unpopular skills for each class, figuring out why they aren’t being used in your builds, and then seeing how we can make them better — either by redesigning how they work or just buffing the hell out of them. CLICK HERE for THE BEST Diablo 3 Barbarian Guide

For barbarians, we focused on improving the following areas:

  • Bash and Cleave are not very attractive compared to Frenzy
  • Many of the damage-oriented Fury Spenders don’t do enough damage to justify the spot on your bar

Fury Generators

Frenzy:
It’s easy to see why Frenzy is the most popular Fury Generator right now.  It generates a solid amount of Fury, it has the highest single-target damage of any Fury generator, and it has the highest single-target healing using Life on Hit.  The bonus attack speed also provides good combat mobility as well as the option to focus all your damage on a single target or distribute it between multiple targets as needed.  We’re going to buff Bash and Cleave to be viable alternatives to Frenzy for people who would like to try a different play style.

Bash:
From a design perspective, Bash should be the definitive choice when it comes to maximizing your Fury generation. That’s not currently the case, and given the current state of the game, this means attacking the problem from two sides. First, we need to make Fury a more attractive resource to build up (which also means making Fury Spenders more attractive, which I talk about below). Second, we’re going to increase the amount of Fury generated by Bash from 6 to 8, as well as the amount of weapon damage done by Bash from 150% to 165%.  The goal is to make Bash not only a very compelling option if you decide you want to focus on Fury generation, but also an appealing single-target alternative to Frenzy if you don’t enjoy its mechanics (like having to manage Frenzy stacks).  Currently, Frenzy surpasses Bash in single-target damage as soon as you have your third stack of Frenzy, and it feels like the breakpoint should be around the fourth stack instead. These changes should help better balance the appeal of the two skills.

Cleave:
Looking at the three basic Fury Generators (Frenzy, Bash and Cleave), the role of Cleave is fairly straight-forward: it should be the clear winner when there is more than one target to hit. In a single-target situation, however, Cleave will always perform worse than Bash and Frenzy. While this is intended to a degree, the amount of single-target damage you currently have to give up feels too great to make the trade-off worthwhile. At an extreme, if Cleave did almost exactly the same damage as Bash or Frenzy, but had the ability to hit a second target when one was around, Cleave would definitely become that “clear winner.” So, to make it more appealing to some players, our goal is then to find that sweet spot between where Cleave is now and doing the same single-target as Frenzy and Bash.  We’re going to increase both the damage and proc coefficient on Cleave to close the gap when fighting a single target.

Fury Spenders

For many players, using Hammer of the Ancients, Seismic Slam, or Rendjust doesn’t seem worth it.  To make these skills more attractive, we’re going to straight up buff their damage across the board.  How much?  Well,  we noticed that more players use Battle Rage than any of these other Fury Spenders, but Battle Rage is less exciting to use and doesn’t quite evoke the same visceral joy.  So, we used Battle Rage and Frenzy as our starting point.  We basically asked ourselves the question “How much damage would Hammer of the Ancients have to do in order to make Frenzy + Hammer [of the Ancients] as appealing as Frenzy + Battle Rage?”  Players who really want to go the extra mile for the most damage could go so far as to combine all three skills together, so we kept that in mind as well.

Hammer of the Ancients vs. Battle Rage was a simple starting point, but we used similar approaches with Seismic Slam, and Rend.  The basic idea was: Fury generation isn’t attractive to players because Fury spending isn’t attractive to players, so what do the numbers need to be to fix that? To continue using Hammer of the Ancients as an example:

  • We’re increasing its base damage from 200% to 325%
  • We’re increasing the damage for Rolling Thunder from 155% to 275%
  • We’re increasing the damage for Smash from 270% to 406%

And to provide another example, here’s what we’re doing with Rend:

  • Weapon damage increased from 210% over 3 seconds to 700% over 5 seconds
  • Lacerate weapon damage increased from 271% over 3 seconds to 903% over 5 seconds
  • Bloodbath weapon damage increased from 60% over 3 seconds to 100% over 5 second

With these improvements (Whirlwind and Seismic Slam will be receiving similar tweaks to improve their viability), we hope to see Fury Spenders become more appealing for all levels of play.

But What About…

I’ll close by adding that there are no changes planned for either Sprint or Battle Rage, so all you crazy double tornado barbarians will still be able to log in after 1.0.4 goes live and continue with your current build. Or, you can try out some of the new toys we’re adding. Either way, we hope you have fun and are looking forward to 1.0.4!
